Katie Brown
Katie is a PhD student in Physics who combines theory, observation, and computation to study a range of astrophysical phenomena. While completing her B.S. in astrophysics and the University of Western Ontario, she explored fast radio bursts. She also worked at the Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics is Heidelberg, studying the circumgalactic medium using the IllustrisTNG galaxy simulation. Her current focus is using machine learning to create high-resolution models of foreground dust emission for CMB polarization studies. If she isn’t on campus, you can most likely find her running, hiking, rock climbing, or cooking!
