2026 Susan and colleagues from the Center for Decoding the Universe were awarded a seed grant from the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI). 2025 Minjie Lei was named a 2MB Fellow by KIPAC, for "innovative work using statistical and numerical techniques applied to astrophysics". Congratulations, Minjie! Susan was named to the TIME 100 Next list. Susan was named the David Huntington Dean’s Faculty Scholar at Stanford. Stanford's School of Humanities and Sciences awarded Susan the 2024-25 Dean’s Award for Distinguished Teaching in the area of First Years in Teaching. The Stanford Faculty Women's Forum awarded Susan an Inspiring Early Academic Career Award. Susan won an NSF CAREER award, a research and education grant that will provide funding for our group over five years. Susan was awarded the 2025 Helen B. Warner Prize from the American Astronomical Society. 2024 Susan and Philipp Frank were highlighted in a Stanford Report article about Marlowe, Stanford's new GPU cluster. Susan was named a Chambers Fellow by the School of Humanities and Sciences at Stanford, for "excellence in teaching and research". We officially launched the new Center for Decoding the Universe at Stanford. The Center is a collaboration between Stanford Data Science and KIPAC, and Susan is the co-director. The Via Project: Kavli Foundation News feature on our work on Via, a new spectroscopic survey of the Milky Way. Our Via award was also highlighted by Stanford H&S. Ben Dodge is working on cold gas tomography of the Galactic Halo with Via. George Halal successfully defended his dissertation, "Polarized Dust Emission and the Morphology of the Interstellar Medium". Congratulations, Dr. Halal! Sloan Fellowship: Susan was awarded a Sloan Research Fellowship. 2023 Mapping Cosmic Magnetism in the Space Between the Stars: Susan gave the Benjamin Dean Astronomy Lecture at the California Academy of Sciences.
